## Module 16. Computer Circuits

Course Objectives/Outcomes: Students who complete this course will be able to:

• Identify, describe, and apply components of digital and computer circuits, including A/D converters, three-state buffers, D flip-flops, and RAM.

Module Objectives/Outcomes: Students who complete this module will be able to:

1. Convert binary numbers to decimal.
2. Convert decimal numbers to binary.
3. Sketch and label computer components, including MOSFETs, DRAM cells, 3-state buffers, and D flip flops.
4. Calculate the output of an A-to-D converter, including when the input is out of range.
5. Calculate the required sampling rate of an A-to-D converter.
6. Determine the appropriate memory technology for a given application.
7. Determine the appropriate processor type (microcontroller or microprocessor) for a given application.
8. Identify and describe the technologies used in modern microprocessors.
9. Describe the consequences of Moore's Law.
